100 Years Ago: 1923

A Fordson tractor arrived at Thorne’s corner grange hall, Thursday afternoon, and was an object of much interest among the men and boys who were attending the special meeting of the grange. The program was by the Wade and Dunton company of Lewiston and was designed to show the advantages to the farmer of motor driven farm machinery, the tractor being sent out as an object lesson.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The fourth and fifth grades chorus of C. P. Wight School will present its Spring Concert May 2, at 7 p.m., at the East Auburn Community Center, under the direction of Miss Sandra Simpson, elementary music specialist, for the school. Accompanying the chorus on “Country Road” are, left to right, Julie Webster, Michael Tchao, and Lori Cooper.

25 Years Ago: 1998

Shannon L. Morin, senior nursing student at Central Maine Medical School of Nursing has been nominated to receive the All American School Collegiate Award. This award constitutes the recognition of outstanding work and academic achievements during her college career. Morin is the daughter of Fred and Nancy Ward of Greenville. She will graduate in May with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Nursing.
