NORWAY — A group to help those who have experienced any kind of loss, and who would like help and support dealing with their grief, plan to meet at 2 p.m. Thursdays at The Table on 160 Main St., beginning May 4.

The group will meet every Thursday for six  weeks. Joan Spitzform, a professional bereavement counselor, will hold structured sessions on healing from a loss.

For nine years, Spitzform did bereavement support for Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice. Until recently, she also was a Level 1 certified on-call chaplain at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She continues to be a bereavement volunteer and grief group facilitator at Androscoggin, according to a news release from Karen Turino with The Table.

There will be no charge for participating in this group, and everyone is welcome. Those who would like to come on May 4 to see if this feels comfortable are encouraged to do so. However, after the first meeting, there is an expectation that one will continue for the remaining sessions.
