Joan Pelchat
LISBON – Joan Pelchat, 87, of Lisbon, died peacefully Tuesday morning April 25, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House with her family by her side.
Born in Lewiston on Dec. 31, 1935, the daughter of the late Emile and Rolande Ouellette. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at The Basilica of St. Peter and Paul. She loved singing along to Glenn Miller and spending quality time caring for her grandchildren and great great children. Whether it be attending recitals, ice-skating or Sunday’s at the beach, Joan’s lust for life was always contagious.
Joan is survived by her daughter Debra Lemieux and husband Guy of Turner. Her sons, Renald Pelchat and longtime partner Margaret Martin-Pelchat of Otisfield, Richard Pelchat and fiancé Tammy Gammon Stevens of Lisbon. Her grandchildren Sara Lemieux-Ansari and husband Shehzad of Portland, ME, Denis Pelchat of Woolwich, Robert Pelchat J. of Auburn, April Capalbo of Otisfield, Dylan Pelchat of Auburn. She had 15 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Cecile Mathieu and husband Robert of Lewiston, and Therese Bernier of Brunswick.
She was predeceased by her husband Bertrand Pelchat, eldest son Robert Pelchat, granddaughter Melanie Lemieux and grandson Cassidy Pelchat.
The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Hospice House for their excellent care.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 28 at 10 a.m., followed by committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
