Lee R. Hubley

WINTHROP – Lee Ryan Hubley passed away at home with his family on April 26, 2023, after a six-year battle with lung cancer. While his death may seem that cancer “won”, Lee’s courage, positive attitude, determination and unwavering perseverance unquestionably led him to emerge the undefeated victor.

In 1976, Lee began a long and successful career at a textile mill that was at the time called Albany Felt, and later became Tex Tech Industries. A driven, dedicated, and skilled employee, Lee began this career as an entry-level bobbin stripper, and retired from Tex Tech in 2018 after many years as a well-respected plant manager. Lee’s third child, Seth J. Hubley, was born in 1977.

Lee was an avid golfer, athlete, and outdoorsman, a master griller, and a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots.

During his life, Lee role modeled integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic. He was a man who honored his word and followed through with his commitments.

Lee was predeceased by his father, Leslie R. Hubley, and his mother, Elaine K. Chase.

He is survived by his stepmother, Adena Hubley; wife, Constance J. Hubley; sister, Lynne Barry; Elaine’s oldest son and Lee’s younger brother, Eric Hubley, his stepsisters Ilse Mercier, Roberta Bettencourt, Kim Barnett, and Kelly Hess; his children, Scott Hubley, Jess Hubley, and Seth Hubley, his stepson, Leslie D. Green Jr.; his grandsons Mickhael Hubley and Declan Hubley; and several nieces and nephews.

Lee’s family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Haney and his Team at NECC, Topsham, as well as Beacon Hospice, Augusta for their thorough care and for their supportive presence whenever they were needed.
