Without getting into the intricacies of infrastructure, I wonder why we haven’t heard of the increased cost of running the city of Auburn with all the new development.

Just think about the added teachers, more firemen, police, highway department, road repair and school bus drivers, and it just keeps going.

This does not even take into consideration the ongoing situation with Lake Auburn. It seems that decisions are being made without any consideration of what the residents want.

I have lived here my entire life, and it is very disheartening to see what our forefathers worked so hard to preserve, and we throw it away without any consideration of the consequences.

I think it is time for the city to step back and do what most residents want. Elections are coming, and my feeling is that it is time for a change before our city is beyond the point of no return.

Is the city trying to build a Portland North?
