NORWAY — During May’s Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, visitors to Norway Memorial Library can enjoy two exhibits of Asian artifacts and Japanese art owned by Brian and Sherri Otterson of Norway.
Sherri and Brian Otterson lived in Okinawa, Japan for 21 years and South Korea for seven. In that time, they accumulated an impressive collection of Japanese Kokeshi dolls and teapots from China, South Korea, and Japan. Their art collection features 28 woodblock prints and etchings from various artists.
The displays may be viewed whenever the library is open through May and June. Viewers also have an opportunity to hear a brief talk about Brian and Sherri’s time in Asia and enjoy the displays at an art reception on Wednesday, May 31, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Norway Memorial Library is located at 258 Main Street, Norway.
