This handsome fella is Cooper, a 7-year-old Beagle. Cooper found himself at the shelter when his person went into assisted living and could not take him. He is now living in a wonderful foster home, waiting for the right match to find him and give him a permanent retirement home. We have heard that Cooper is a ladies’ man and prefers the company of women. However, he has been doing well meeting men in his foster home. In his previous home, he would guard toys and food sometimes, so he will not be placed with young children. His foster home hasn’t seen any negative behavior from him. His foster mom reports that he loves to cuddle and play with his toys. He likes to be inside and likes to lie on the couch and look out the window. He barks to go out to do his business. He has chased cats in the past, but seems to do okay with calm, medium to small dogs. Large dogs scare him, but on walks, he will ignore them and keep moving. He would love to have someone who is home most of the time. Cooper is almost 7 years old, and he’s a lumpy, bumpy guy. He probably has some achy joints, typical for his age. He’s working on losing a couple of pounds. He is looking for a person who will love him but also not let him take over. In return, he will devote himself to you.

Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills is a no-kill, non-profit shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs, and the holding area for stray dogs for 12 towns in Oxford County. The shelter is located at 9 Swallow Road in Paris and is open for general visits or cat adoptions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. (Other days by appointment; dog visits are always by appointment).

Responsible Pet Care operates a thrift shop called Pawsibilities. It is located at 132 Waterford Road in Norway and the store hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All the money raised at Pawsibilities supports RPC.
