
Two people were transported to the hospital Saturday night after they were seriously injured in a crash on Turner Street in Buckfield.

The motorcyclists were traveling westbound together in the area of 641 Turner St. around 5:43 p.m. when they encountered a motor vehicle that was turning into a private residence, according to a news release from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses indicated that the two motorcycles collided, causing them to go off the road and crash.
The motorcyclists were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries. Rider inexperience is believed to have been a factor in the crash, the news release stated.
Buckfield Fire Department and Buckfield Rescue, along with a member of Turner Rescue, responded to the crash. The crash is being investigated by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
