OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, at 231 Rayville Road in Otisfield, is pleased to announce the selection of Rev. Don Mayberry as their minister. Rev. Mayberry began serving the church as of May 1. He will be conducting worship services each Sunday at 10 a.m.
Don had served for 20 years as pastor at First Congregational Church in Paris before retiring in 2020. “I had intended to be retired from pastoring a church, but after a nearly three-year break, I felt moved to take on the Otisfield Church,” said Mayberry.
“It is a small and warm congregation and Judy and I are looking forward to joining them in the endeavor of simply being a church” he added. “If you do not already have a home church, feel free to visit us” said Mayberry.
During retirement, Don and Judy have been providing music at a number of churches around the state and they will be adding music on occasion during Sunday services.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
