NORWAY — Second Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 205 Main Street, Norway is excited to announce that its Thrift Shoppe will be open on Saturday, May 20 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Thanks to generous donations from the Oxford Hills Community, the Thrift Shoppe will feature unique and common household items, dishes, glassware, books, jewelry, linens, toys, antiques and so much more. All items are clean, in good working order and very reasonably priced. Some are new and some are gently used.
The money raised by the Thrift Shoppe will support the many missions of our community church, which include but are not limited to: the monthly free drive thru supper, online and in person worship services, Sunday school, Bible study, donations to local food pantries, knitting and book groups.
In the parking lot, on May 20, there will also be a large Plant Sale. Vegetable seedlings, annuals and perennials will be for sale. Proceeds from the Plant Sale will support Pilgrim Lodge camp scholarships.
On Sunday May 21, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., church members will be available to accept donations to the Thrift Shoppe. All items should be clean, in good condition, new or gently used and suitable for the Thrift Shoppe. Members suggest antiques, children’s books and toys, jewelry, kitchen items, dishes, glassware, small appliances, lamps, tools, puzzles, furniture, pictures, mirrors, silverware, linens, seasonal decorations, etc.
