Robert A. Letourneau
LEWISTON – Robert A. Letourneau, 81, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2023, at CMMC with his family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on March 17, 1942, one of 12 children born to the late Eugene and Emerentienne (Roy) Letourneau. Bob was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
He was a military Veteran serving his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Army.
On Feb. 23, 1963, he married the love of his life, Rita Dallaire of Auburn, and together they settled in Lewiston to raise their family. She predeceased him just over three months ago, on Feb. 9, of this year. After a short time apart they are together again.
Bob worked for many years as a truck driver and spent most of those working years driving for Roadway Express of Lewiston-Auburn until his retirement.
He was a member of Holy Family Church and was very much a true family man as he thoroughly enjoyed fun times with family and grandchildren. He would play many games with his children and grandchildren, including lawn darts and pichenotte at family gatherings. In his younger years, Bob played some golf, but especially loved to dance and sing at weddings and other gatherings.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. Bob was a loving, devoted and hardworking husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his three children, daughter Linda Letourneau and wife Patricia Fox of Arlington, Mass., son, Gerry Letourneau and wife Brenda of Lewiston and daughter, Cheryl Brushwein and husband Gary of Auburn; a special niece, Jean Angela Carter and husband David of Greene; seven grandchildren, Alex Brushwein and wife Bella of Lewiston, Ian Brushwein of Auburn, Mason Brushwein of Auburn,
Julian Fox of Arlington, Mass,, Rosa Fox of Arlington, Mass,, Rylee Letourneau of Lewiston and T.J. Ferland and wife Destiny of Sabattus; three great-grandchildren, Levi, Wyatt and Audrie; two sisters,
Carmen Chapman of Lewiston and Lorraine LeBourdais and husband Richard of Billerica, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Rita; his parents; and nine siblings.
Visitation Fortin Group / Auburn, Thursday May 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Friday May 26, at 10 a.m. Committal, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
