To the Editor:

We are happy to announce that this July we will have the 8th year of our free children’s summer program, “Mornings at the Museum”. As in the past, the program is held every Thursday in July from 9:30-11:30 a.m., on the grounds of the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society and is open to all children ages 5-10.

This year’s theme is “Nature and Pollinators” and many of our activities will incorporate this under the leadership of our local Student Docents and adult volunteers – a mural focusing on nature, a sewing project on butterflies, looking at parts of nature with microscopes, face painting with a nature theme.

We will also have outdoor live music and games, age-appropriate Museum and house tours, sidewalk chalk drawing, historical clothing exhibit with “try on” replicas, and garden watering from out well. Some activities will be constant, others will rotate, and some may be added.

Additionally, children may come all four sessions, or as they can. Pre-registration is not necessary, but if you let us know, it would help. Plus, if your child has special needs, we will do our best to accommodate. Finally, all children need to be accompanied by an adult, so come and participate, or bring a chair and sit and watch. We hope to see you in July.
