SUMNER — A fire that leveled a home on Bonney Road late Tuesday night is under investigation.

The house at 187 Bonney Road was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived about 10:10 p.m.

Crews set up a water supply at the Old Route 140 Bridge near the Hartford town line. They later requested an additional tanker task force. Firefighters were at the scene until well after 2 a.m.

Bonney Road is off of Route 219, also known at Main Street.

Firefighters from Buckfield, West Paris, Turner, Paris, Canton, Hebron, Norway, Woodstock, Peru and Greenwood provided assistance.
