Ashley Faucher

LEWISTON — Ashley Faucher is the city’s new senior appraiser, having obtained her Certified Maine Assessor designation.

“It’s a very difficult exam, and only a few people a year receive the certification,” Lewiston Chief Assessor William Healey said. “Ashley should be very proud. She has a bright future in the assessing field.”

The eight-hour Certified Maine Assessor examination is held annually and comprised of five parts, covering all aspects of Maine property tax law; assessment theory, including concepts of value, concepts of property, and assessment mathematics; land valuation and tax maps; cost approach to value and market approach to value; and the income approach to value, land valuation, assessment ratio studies and mapping.

As senior appraiser, Faucher’s primary assessing duties include four-year property reviews, building permit reviews, and sales data verification inspections.

Faucher began her municipal career in September 2020, working as a customer service specialist in Lewiston’s Finance and Assessing departments. In October 2021 she assumed the position of appraiser in assessing.

Prior to working for the Lewiston, Faucher was a consumer loan processor for Atlantic Federal Credit Union. She came to the city with 10-plus years of banking and financial experience.
