AUGUSTA — Gov. Janet Mills and the Maine Emergency Medical Services Board have awarded the 2023 Maine EMS Governor’s Award to Tom Judge, founder and executive director of LifeFlight of Maine, and Dr. Norm Dinerman, founder and medical director of LifeFlight of Maine.
LifeFlight is a nonprofit, statewide critical care medical transport service jointly owned by Northern Light Health and Central Maine Healthcare Corp.
“This award is conferred for your exceptional contribution to the EMS system at the state, national, and systemwide levels,” J. Sam Hurley, director of Maine Emergency Medical Services, wrote in a May 26 letter announcing the award. “You have demonstrated involvement and contribution to multiple areas of EMS activities (e.g., system development, education, administration, public education, quality/process improvement, etc.).”
Judge and Dinerman will be presented with the award June 27 at the Cole Land Transportation Museum in Bangor.
