Da Capo, a talented group of singers from the Mt. Washington Valley led by Mary Bastoni and John Waldie, will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts.
Da Capo will be leading off the summer concert series at the Brick Church, performing songs from Burt Bacharach, Bill Withers, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Queen, and Tito Puente, just to name a few. The group formed in 2008 to entertain and bring diverse musical styles to the Mt Washington Valley. Da Capo has great energy and sound, performing both accompanied and a cappella versions of familiar songs.
Other offerings the Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts include Mary Bastoni, singing the songs of Barbara Streisand, Don Roy with his fiddle and blue grass tunes, and female legends of country music, performed by Teresa Dyer. Blues lovers will enjoy L.C. Williams and the Driver, followed by classical guitarist Alex Roche and then the West African influenced sounds of the multi-instrumentalist Dave Kobrenski. The summer season will conclude with the Bradley Jazz Collective performing creative interpretations of jazz standards as well as original pieces.
Once again the Lovell Brick Church will also offer a children’s summer theater week with Mary Bastoni during the month of July. More information on the BCPA schedule, visit lovellbrickchurch.org.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Refreshments will be served at intermission, and the church has air conditioning for warm nights.
The Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts is located on Christian Hill Rd, Lovell. For more information, call 207-925-1500 or go to the BCPA Facebook page or the website at lovellbrickchurch.org.
