Fernande I. Mathieu
LEWISTON – Fernande I. Mathieu, 91, of Lewiston, died Monday, June 5, 2023 at Clover Manor, Auburn.
She was born in Lewiston the daughter of Gerard and Leanne Beaudoin on Jan. 26, 1932.
She worked in the shoe industry for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed going with her husband to casinos, watching their sons play hockey, Red Sox, a huge fan of the Boston Bruins and Maniacs.
Fernande was predeceased by her husband, Roland Mathieu; and brother, Fernand Beaudoin.
She is survived by her sons Daniel Mathieu and wife Debra of Gray, Donald Mathieu of Lewiston and Mathew Martin, her adopted son; three grandchildren, Derek and wife Jennifer Mathieu of Windham, Evan and Kate Carlson of Casco, Ryan Brissette and fiance Angela of Poland; and six loving great-grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Sophie, Hunter, Tyler and Nataly.
Per her request, there will be no services. A Liturgy of the Word will be held in the large mausoleum at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston on Thursday June 15 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston.
