Dolores Cailler Bergeron

LEWISTON – Dolores Cailler Bergeron, at the age of 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her entire family and their spouses. She left this earth on Sunday June 4 as she had always lived, with grace and dignity, and on her own terms reminding us to live life fully. Dolores (Dodo) was a truly beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend – if you knew her, you loved her.

She would say, “you have to be a good friend to have a good friend” and she was blessed with many wonderful friends, gathering weekly for cards, monthly for birthday celebrations, and many fun road trips. She truly cherished this great group of ladies.

She never missed a birthday, anniversary, holiday or any special event, ensuring that cards were always sent. As the matriarch of the family she kept several families together, organizing holiday gatherings so all of the cousins and their families were engaged annually.

The daughter of Ronaldo and Gertrude(Ouellette) Cailler, Dolores married Paul Bergeron August 9, 1954, who passed on their 43rd anniversary. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Forsyth School for Dentistry in Boston, Mass. Before most women balanced work and family, Dolores practiced Dental Hygiene for 40 years while raising five children.

Dolores was predeceased by her loving husband Paul Bergeron, brothers, Pat Cailler (Dot), Bob Cailler (Carmen) and sister Janine Grenier (Alphee). Dolores is survived by her five children, Denis Bergeron (Sharon) and their two children Riley and Calvin, Paula Sundin (Steve), Mary Coggeshall (Mike), Tom Bergeron (Amy) and their children Justin and wife Maddie, Jonathan, and Joel, and Ron Bergeron (Gail).

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. June 29 at Pinette, Dillingham & Lynch, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, with a service Friday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
