George Thomas Evans

TUCSON, Ariz. – George Thomas Evans, 84, passed away on June 2, 2023. The son of George R. Evans and Lois J. Rhoades Evans, he was born on Feb. 21, 1939 in Natick, Mass. He moved with his family to Maine as a small child and was educated in the schools of Greene, Leeds, and Turner Center. He was a 1957 graduate of the Leavitt Institute, a 1964 graduate of Suffolk University, and a proud graduate of Benning School for Boys in September 1966.

After his military service he settled in southern Arizona with his wife, Helen and daughters Robin and Linda. He enjoyed cheering for the Boston Red Sox from a distance and the Arizona Diamondbacks, loved many dogs – one blue tick coon/foxhound mix in particular – and cats, and enjoyed the view of the Santa Catalina mountains out his dining room window while reading.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Lois; and his sister, Candace (Evans) Hines.

He is survived by his wife; daughters; sisters Nancy Evans and Sarah (Evans) Sullivan.
