HARRISON — Deertrees Theatre’s 87th season opener features three actors from/with Norway roots, in its own unique depiction of “The Way Life Should Be” in the home-state originated, comfortably familiar play “Almost, Maine,” by John Cariani.

Why is this production unique? Nearly all members of the cast/artistic team are from this publication’s readership areas – true home state regional theatre – exploring nine short plays about love loss and the mythical Maine town, “Almost.”

The show also debuts Deertrees’ incredible brand new projection system, showcasing panoramic landscape video of Maine winters as a backdrop to the actors (see below), adding a multi-media dimension to the show. To top it off, celebrity composer/musician Terry Swett performs the official Maine state song “My Sweet Maine” live throughout this production.
