Betty Jean A. Allen

LEWISTON – Betty Jean A. Allen, 88, formerly of Mechanic Falls, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at d’Youville Pavilion. She was born in Lewiston on April 8, 1935,, the daughter of Jerome and Muriel Gove Ayers.

She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School. She held several jobs over the years, Parker’s Hardware in Mechanic Falls, the State of Maine, Liberty Mutual and Porteous. She was a lifetime member of Dwinal Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Congregational Church in Mechanic Falls. She enjoyed dancing and traveling.

Betty is survived by her son Sidney Hall, her daughter Cindy Stuchbury and her husband Ray; granddaughters Annie Stuchbury and Colette Hall; stepchildren, Linda Allen, Paul and Michelle Allen and Sandra and Steve Cary; several step grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Carol Ayers. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Jerome, Jr.; and her husband Everett Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 4 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 26 W. Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls followed by interment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mechanic Falls.
