AUBURN – Vincent J. LePage, 77, of Auburn, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon June 11 at his home. He was born in Rochester, N.H. March 21, 1946, one of three children born to the late Joseph Paul and Marie Rita Rose (Plante) LePage.

Vincent was educated in Berwick schools and graduated from Berwick High School in 1965. Following high school, Vincent graduated from culinary arts school then moved and relocated to Lewiston-Auburn where he accepted a job offer in food service at Bates College. He spent his entire career of 45 years at Bates starting as a line cook, moving up to sous chef, head chef and Assistant Director of Bates Food Inc. until his retirement. Vincent’s absolute truest passion and enjoyment was cooking. He always enjoyed cooking for family and friends and would often send his own family members out of their own kitchens, in their own homes, on family holidays, so he could finish preparing those family meals, year after year. His other favorite enjoyment which equalled cooking, was spending time good times with his family and siblings, especially nieces and nephews.

Vincent was a loving and hardworking son, brother and uncle, with a good sense of humor, who will be dearly missed. As never having married and having no children, he leaves behind two sisters Susan Volkmann and husband Wayne of Portsmouth, N.H. and Carol Loranger and husband James of Gorham, Maine; his nephew Craig Loranger and Partner Michelle Meserve of Waterboro, his nieces Kristin Burke and husband Justin and their children Kaedyn and Remy Burke of Standish, Lynn Volkmann and her partner Bill Renas of Winchester, Va., and Heidi Kukla and her husband David of Concord, N.H. Vincent was predeceased by his parents.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday July 15 at 1 p.m. on the family lot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth, N.H.
