NORWAY — Have you had a loss of any kind, and you just can’t let go? Are you having trouble getting out of bed, getting dressed, going out? Are you avoiding people? Does everything feel like just too much effort?
The “Healing After Loss” Grief Support Group at The Table will be forming its next Group to begin on July 6 at The Table, 160 Main Street in Norway, for anyone who is struggling with grief over a loss of any kind.
The group will be facilitated by Joan Spitzform, a professional Bereavement Counselor, with over nine years of experience leading Grief Support Groups at Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice. Until recently, Joan also served as a Level 1 On-Call Chaplain at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
There will be six sessions, meeting weekly from 2 to 3:30 p.m. every Thursday. The group will learn about grief and the process of healing from loss, and there will be guided discussions and open sharing. These meetings will be confidential.
To sign up for the July 6 Group or for more information, please contact Joan Sptizform at [email protected] or email The Table at [email protected]. Arrangements will be worked out for anyone who comes after the sessions have begun. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
