John M. Mauro II

FLORIDA – John M. Mauro II passed peacefully at his home in Florida on June 7, 2023. He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 28, 1946, to the late John Mauro and Victoria (Essegian) Mauro. John graduated from Lewiston High School and the University of Maine and went on to teach History and coach baseball at Oxford High School. He then became a partner in his father’s business – Vincent Fruit. John then owned his own business, Crusader Tomato.He married his college sweetheart Deborah Harwood in December of 1972. They have a son, John III, and daughter Krista. His wife passed away in 2007. John was fortunate to meet Lissa Dorazio later in life and married her in 2011. They shared their time between Westbrook Maine and Dunedin Florida where John enjoyed the beach, his golf cart, family visits and playing golf with his lifelong friend Gary Weber and his close friend Pat Illiano. He is survived by his wife Lissa, his son John III and his wife Annie, granddaughter Madeline, daughter Krista and grandson Jack, his three stepsons Christopher Cole, Daniel Cole and Ben Cole and their families. He also leaves two sisters, Mary Langelier and Carol Thompson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
