Harvey Lawson Treadwell Sr.

MEXICO – Harvey Lawson Treadwell Sr., 81, died Monday June 26, 2023, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston surrounded by his family. He resided in Mexico.

Harvey was born in Rumford on Jan. 30, 1942, and was the son of George and Violet (Allen) Treadwell. He was a graduate of Mexico High School class of 1960. He worked as a welder and held positions as a milkman, mechanic and an entrepreneur.

Harvey was married in Mexico, Maine on Sept. 16, 1961, to Joleen Philbrick who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include sons Harvey, Jr. and fiancé Robin Rice of South Portland and Michael and wife Elise of Tolland, Conn., a daughter Christal Treadwell and husband Jeff Jamison of Mexico; grandchildren, Meagan and husband Jeff Frost of Cary, N.C., Jessica and husband Josh Henderson of Rumford and their two children Forrest and Nicole, Austin and Grace Treadwell of South Portland, Olivia Treadwell of Windham, Taron Mazza of Dixfield, Lindsay and Hannah Treadwell of Tolland, Conn.; sister, Penny and her husband Dan Glover of Rumford, brother Allen and his wife Donna of Maine.

In Harvey’s younger years he raced stock cars and snowmobiles. He also owned a Polaris dealership and co-owned and operated the Mexico Mud Run. When his son and daughter race snow cross, he was so proud they followed his path. The many years, his son race motocross all over the US and Canada, Harvey was his number one fan and mechanic. His love for racing blossomed into a successful pipe repair business. In later years he enjoyed building hot rods and attending car shows, but its greatest reward was FAMILY and he loved watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday July 15, 2023, at the Boondocks Farm on Shelakis Drive in Canton.
