AUBURN — A Windham man was charged with drunken driving Sunday after crashing his Jeep into a utility pole on Minot Avenue, causing it to roll over several times.

Kody Williams, 28, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence. He was booked at the Androscoggin County jail in Auburn, according to a post on the Auburn Police Department Facebook page. He was not injured.

He was released Sunday night on $250 cash bail, according to jail officials.

Williams was driving his 2023 Jeep Cherokee about 4:15 p.m. when he lost control of it and hit a pole in the area of Hotel Road. The crash took down wires, closing the four-lane road in both directions until about 8:30 p.m.
