The heat continues in Maine on Thursday. It will feel close to 100 degrees for many inland towns by the afternoon.
A heat advisory is in place for Thursday, and the heat continues through the end of the work week. Cooler and wetter weather then returns for the weekend and early next week.
Thursday will be hot and sunny. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s at the coast, with 90s inland.
Sun and high humidity will make for some dangerous heat this afternoon, feeling close to 100 in many towns.
A heat advisory is in place until 7 p.m. away from the coast.
Friday brings more heat, but not quite as hot as Thursday.
Highs will be in the low to mid 80s in coastal Maine, with highs near 90 again inland.
There is the chance for an evening shower or storm, mainly away from the coastline.
The weekend will be a bit cooler and wetter, but still will feature warm temps and plenty of sun.
Saturday still looks pretty dry at the coast with temps near 80.
A better chance of a shower or storm inland, still with plenty of sun and highs in the low 80s.
Sunday has a better chance of showers and storms statewide.
High temps will be cooler in the 70s.
Monday and Tuesday next week look quite wet, especially in the mountains. This is not great news for some of the communities hard hit by flash flooding in recent weeks.
Several more inches of rain are possible early next week, flood concerns will have to be watched again. Monday and Tuesday temps will be in the 70s.
By Wednesday, we begin to dry out again. Temps quickly ramp back up into the 80s to near 90.
