Jeannette E. (Cote) Sutton

LEWISTON – Jeannette E. Sutton (Cote), 88, of Lewiston has passed on to dance with Bob again.

She was born on May 25, 1935, in Lewiston, the daughter of William and Irene Cote. Jeanette graduated from a convent due to her parents passing away before she was 14 and she was raised by Aunt Bertha.

She married Robert L. Sutton on June 1, 1957 at St. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. Throughout their 54 years of marriage they’ve resided in Lewiston, Boothbay Harbor and Winslow. She was a stay at home mother raising their four children. While Bob worked at the Value House she assembled jewelry on the felt pads for the boxes. She later worked at Bell Manufacturing and retired from there.

Jeannette was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Auburn and Sabattus Seniors and Jacques Cartier Clubs. She enjoyed dancing anywhere they went and could always be found on the dance floor.

Her and Bob liked traveling by bus to different destinations and to different casinos. She loved going to Dominican Republic, Florida, Eustis, T&C in New Hampshire and Old Orchard Beach with her family. Some of her hobbies included sitting in the sun by the pool, puzzles, playing Bingo, she loved dancing, word search and crocheting purple baby hats that she has been crocheting for over 10 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Kimberley (Sutton) White, Sandra (Sutton) Doyon and husband Peter, Lisa (Sutton) Young and friend Cindy Wallace, a son, Eric Sutton and wife Nancy; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and also extended grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Bertrand Sutton and wife Constance, Raymond Sutton and wife Laurette.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bob; her brothers Joseph AR Cote and his wife Constance, Maurice Cote and brother-in-law, Roger Sutton.

The family would like to thank Dr. Pamela Ross, Androscoggin Home and Hospice Care all for the caring and support given to her.

The family invited you to a time of visitation on Wednesday July 12, from 12:30-2:30 p.m., at The Fortin Group Lewiston, 70 Pine St. immediately followed by a Liturgy of the Word at St. Peters Cemetery on Deer Road in Lewiston.
