Another fairly nice day ahead in Maine on Thursday.

Rain chances return across the state for the end of the week, and the weekend looks unsettled. However, there are plenty of bright spots in our weekend forecast.

Thursday still looks fairly nice and mainly dry, though with a lot more in the way of cloud cover. Highs will be in the low 80s, with only a slight chance of a shower.

A line of storms will move into Maine late Thursday night, around midnight. It will be quickly weakening as it does so, but some downpours and rumbles of thunder are possible overnight.

Friday then looks wet with storms off and on through the day. Still warm and muggy, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

The weekend looks unsettled, but Saturday won’t be bad at all with a good amount of sun and fairly low rain chances. More of a soaker on Sunday. WGME graphic

It’s a two halves kind of weekend in Maine. Saturday will be the drier and nicer day with some areas of sun and highs in the 80s. There will only be a slight chance for a shower or storm Saturday.

Sunday looks much wetter. Widespread showers and storms will be ongoing through the day, with highs in the 70s.

Rainfall through Monday will total a few inches in many areas. Flash flooding possible in slow moving storms through early next week.

Scattered shower and storm chances continue into early next week, especially inland and towards the mountains. Temps will remain warm with highs in the 80s, and each day will still have a good amount of sun even with the rain and storm chances.
