Andrea P. DeFilipp
AUBURN – Andrea P. DeFilipp, 85, of Auburn, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Hospice House in Auburn.
Born in Lewiston on June 16, 1938, she was the daughter of Emile A. and Alice C. Boucher Thibault. She was educated in Holy Family School, and was a 1956 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Andrea married John G. DeFilipp, on Dec. 10, 1966, and they both enjoyed traveling, taking walks around Back Bay in Portland and going to Foxwoods Casino. John passed away on May 17, 2001.
Employed for many years as a teller by Peoples Bank, Andrea was a “people person” who loved working with the public, as well as spending time visiting with friends and family.
After retirement, Andrea was instrumental in helping to raise her five grandchildren, attending all of their school and sports events. Andrea enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making puzzles, flower gardening, and feeding people as she was an outstanding cook. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Thompson) Sherwood of Auburn, and Christina DeFilipp and husband Niels Jacob of Kennebunkport; a brother, Andre Thibault of Florida, two sisters, Carmen Donahue of San Diego, Calif., and Angela Pendelton of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Isaac Sherwood, Noah Sherwood, Alice Sherwood, Josiyah “Yosi” Sherwood, and Yoel Sherwood.
Andrea was predeceased by her parents Emile A. and Alice C. Boucher Thibault; brothers Emile Thibault and Norman Regis Thibault, and sisters Mignon Chenard and Delores Lacombe.
