ANDOVER — The Andover Historical Society has announced plans and the program for its 70th Flower Show, to be held on Olde Home Day weekend in their building on Elm Street. Adult participants will have 12 categories to enter while those age 12 and under may enter a dish garden for the Flat Rocks on the West Branch of the Ellis River category.
Entries will be received between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening. Greenery and accessories are permitted in all entries except single specimens. One entry per category and no artificial flowers. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, as well as Best of Show and a special Judge’s Award.
In keeping with this year’s theme “Celebrating All Things Ellis”, all categories reference the Ellis River, which has two branches, east, and west, that join together in East Andover and begin their journey to the sea. The program will be available on Facebook or at Mills’ Market in Andover.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
