Glen W. Merrow

LIVERMORE – Glen W. Merrow, 91, a resident of Livermore, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at his daughter and son in law’s home where he resided since January 2023. He was born Nov. 30, 1931, in Fayette, the son and oldest child of Basil and Geneva (Cramp) Merrow. He was a 1951 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On Dec. 27, 1952, he married Mary Jane Merrill in Livermore. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2005. Glen served in the United States Navy during the Korean War returning home in July 1953. He enjoyed his time spent in the Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea. After returning home he worked in the paper industry, retiring at the end of 42 years as a stock prep operator. He enjoyed and spent long periods of time reading and studying the Bible, also interested in history, and extremely knowledgeable and well versed in both. Over the last few years he began playing games on his computer. He enjoyed gardening, long trips throughout Maine, Gospel and Country music and dining out. He is survived by his daughter Terry Turcotte and husband Bruce of Livermore, son Scott Merrow and wife Heidi of Exeter, N.H., grandchildren Jennifer Morgan and husband Michael of Livermore, Joel Turcotte and wife Jamie of Jay, and Sydney Merrow of Exeter, N.H. Also surviving him are three great-grandchildren, Lindsay Morgan, Haley and Abigail Turcotte. He is survived by two sisters, Wilda McDaniel of Fayette, and Winona Mosher of Farmington Falls. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held, 2 p.m., Sunday, July 23, at North Livermore Baptist Church, 619 Federal Road, Livermore, Maine. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 100 Fayette Road, Livermore Falls, Maine. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
