Timothy Jon Calden
PERU – Timothy Jon Calden, 83, passed away on July 6, 2023, at home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1939, in Dixfield to the late Leland and Marion Calden. He married Brenda Durrell on June 26, 1976, and they had 46 years together until her unexpected passing on Aug. 18, 2022. He missed her every day and longed to be with her.
Timmy worked at Diamond Match until its closing and then for Bill Porter through retirement. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, listening to country music, playing cribbage, gardening and the company of his grand-dogs. He also looked forward to eating out with his friend, Carroll Merrill, and weekly breakfast dates with his son, Denny.
He is survived by his brother, Dennis of Norway, brother-in-law, Butch Ferland of Peru; daughter, Cathy Calden of Minot, sons Dennis (Colleen) of Mexico, Ronnie (Crystal) of Richmond, Ricky (Melanie) of Rumford and John (Roxanne) of Clearwater, Fla. Timmy is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many good friends.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Bonnie Ferland; granddaughter, Kali; and infant grandson, Nicholas.
Timmy was fortunate that Cathy was able to move in and care for him, at his home, for the last four months of his life.
Since he turned 60, he was known to say, “You know, I don’t have much more time.” How lucky for us he got 23 more years.
The family would like to thank the staff of Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
There will be a celebration of life for Timmy on Aug. 12, from 2-5 p.m. at Silver Lake Campground, 261 Main St., Roxbury.
