Louise C. Leblanc
NAPLES, Fla. – It is with deep sadness but a peaceful heart that we announce the passing of our sister, Louise C. Leblanc on Aug. 21, 2022, in Naples, Fla. Louise, 84, was born on April 15, 1938 in Auburn, to her late parents Gerald R. Leblanc and Annette Vincent Leblanc. She was a person of many talents but especially loved to teach children, which she did for over 40 years.
She was a graduate of Saint Dominic’s High School class of 1956. Shortly after graduation she professed as a nun to the Order of Saint Dominic. She was assigned to Mortefontine, France for two years of studies and training. After taking her final vows her education continued at Cardinal Cushing College in Boston, Mass. and later at Boston College where she received a master’s degree in education. She served as a nun for 20 years and taught in France, Switzerland and Phoenix, Ariz. She returned to civilian life and continued her career in elementary education for the City of Brookline, Mass., retiring in 2004. She also traveled extensively in Europe and loved to spend her summers at the family cottage in Old Orchard Beach.
She leaves two brothers, Vincent E. Leblanc and wife Patricia D’Urso-Leblanc of Naples, Fla., Albert Leblanc and partner Pierette Jaynes of Citrus Springs, Fla. and sister, Rachel Leblanc of Old Orchard Beach. She also leaves many cousins, especially Connie, Claire, and Marie Vincent who were like sisters to her; and many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery Chapel on Switzerland Road in Lewiston.
