Sisson’s passenger, whose name was not being released pending the investigation, was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries, Jack said. The driver of the SUV was also taken to the Norway hospital but their name was also not being released due to the ongoing investigation, the chief said.

Jack said an Oxford police officer attempted to pull Sisson over about 8:45 p.m. on Main Street, also known as Route 26. A chase ensued for less than a minute before the 2005 GMC pickup truck Sisson was driving slammed into the back of an SUV in front of the Route 26 Antiques.

Sisson was released from the hospital and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris. He was charged with eluding an officer, two counts of aggravated driving to endanger, operating after suspension, violating conditions of release, theft, illegal attachment of plates, and refusing to sign a traffic citation.
