Michelle Clements of Auburn was recently appointed to a three-year term on the American Water Works Association’s Affairs Council, one of six association councils that support the association’s strategic plan.
The councils include volunteers from the water sector who work with the association staff in the fields of public information, science and technology, education, government affairs and other key areas of involvement. The PAC’s work largely supports the association’s core principal of strengthening public trust.
Clements, public relations and communications manager at the Portland Water District, has over 25 years of experience in the water sector and in the field of communications and public relations. She is also the editor of the New England Water Works Association’s trade publication, The Journal, and is on the board of the Maine Public Relations Council.
