Candide M. Rodrigue

AUBURN – Candide M. Rodrigue, “Candy”, 83, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Friday morning July 28, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. Candy was born on Nov. 29, 1939, in St. Gedeon, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Gedeon Poulin and Clementine (Delaire) Poulin. Candy came to the United States at age four and attended local schools. She worked at Knapp Shoe in Lewiston for 38 years and also worked at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for 15 years. She loved to dance, bowl, knit, play card games and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her son Scott C. Rodrigue, his wife Tammy Rodrigue and their three sons Reece Rodrigue, Kegan Rodrigue, and Brodyn Rodrigue all of Auburn, her grandson Scott W. Rodrigue (son of the late Wayne Rodrigue) and his son Camden Rodrigue both of Pittston, and her partner of 23 years Robert “Bob” Herard of Auburn.

Candy was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Jacqueline Roy, Lorraine Lemay, and Yvette Aube, her brothers Clermont Poulin and Gil Poulin, her daughter Mary Rodrigue, and her sons Kenneth Rodrigue and Wayne Rodrigue. She will be missed by her family.

A time of visitation will be held at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa Street, Lewiston Maine on Friday Aug. 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. until noon, with a Liturgy of the Word to follow at noon. A Committal Service will be held immediately after at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Road, Lewiston Maine.
