Louis D. Gagne

POLAND – Louis D. Gagne, 82, of Poland, died July 7, 2023, in Jackman, Maine.

Born in Poland, Aug. 13, 1940, the son of Fred and Mabel McKay Gagne. He attended Mechanic Falls High School, then served in the Army as a SP4 Armored Crewman. Retired as a Maintenance Engineer, he also worked as a Layout Engineer and Surveyor throughout his life. He had a tremendous work ethic, which he instilled in all of his children. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, motorcycles and hot rod cars.

Survivors include five daughters, Vicki Stover, Cindi Tappe, Tammi Perry, Wendi Young, and Kristi Kron; and a son, Peter Gagne; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Jackson; and his partner of 33 years, Christine Billings.

Predeceased by his wife of 32 years and mother of his children, Carole Hall Gagne; a son, Russell; four brothers, Frederick, Edwin, Robert, and Donald; and three sisters, Helene Keene, Eleanor Jordan and June Keene.

A Graveside Service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Poland on September 3, at 2 p.m., with a funeral reception at the Poland Town Hall.
