To the Editor:

The Rotary Club of Bethel multi-day yard sale was an incredible success due to the generosity of our donors, shoppers, and the Rotarians, spouses, and Friends of Rotary who gave freely of their time for the duration of the yard sale, and then some.

For many “furniture grade Rotarians”, who picked up donations over the past year, took them to our various storage facilities, and then transported truckload after truckload of treasures to the yard sale site, we owe an incredible and hearty thanks!

There are many other community partners we also rely on. Many thanks to Gould Academy for the use of their tables, to the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce staff for answering hundreds of questions about the yard sale, making signs for the event, and providing trash cans and restroom facilities, to D & E Sanitation for the use of the dumpster, to the Gem Theater for sharing the parking lot for multiple. days, and to the Hope Association in Rumford for accepting all our yard-sale leftovers (so we did not need to put them in the landfill).

Additionally, we have partners who support us all year long with our donation pick-ups and storage. A huge thanks to Bethel Kitchen Designs, Sonny Hastings from the Hastings Farm in East Bethel, and Mike & Ewa Zeoli for the use of their garage/storage.

The purpose of this yard sale is to raise funds that Rotary invests back into our local communities through scholarships, children’s programming, and other worthy needs. We could not do all of what we do without the amazing support listed above! Please mark your calendars for the 2024 yardsale dates – Tuesday, August 6-12.
