The Maine-based string and vocal trio of Boardman, Muise, and Gawler will perform a benefit concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, in the Meetinghouse at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in New Gloucester.
This threesome of well-known Maine musicians, playing fiddles, cello, and guitar, will feature music inspired by a Scotch, Irish, and French repertoire and culture. They will bring improvisation and passion to their treatments of traditional and newly composed tunes and songs collected and written by them over several decades of music-making.
The 1794 Meetinghouse is one of Maine’s most beautiful and acoustically superb venues for vocal and instrumental performances.
Tickets are $20 suggested minimum donation. Seating is limited to 100. Doors open at 7 p.m. Proceeds of this concert benefit the ongoing historic preservation of the Herb House Cultural Center and the Shaker Great Barn.
