Therese R. (Desrosiers) Daigneault

POLAND – Therese R. (Desrosiers) Daigneault, 93, of Poland passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2023, at her home. She was the wife of the late Leo A. Daigneault, who died in 2021.

She was born in St. Agatha, on July 3, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Chasse) Desrosiers. She grew up in St Agatha and has been a lifelong resident of the Lewiston – Auburn area. Therese and Leo were married on March 10, 1952, together, in 1960, started Dag’s Bait Shop in Auburn, raising their family there.

Therese enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and singing, she was the choir director for Sacred Heart Church for many years. She also enjoyed bowling with her husband and her sisters.

She is survived by six children: Marie Ann Anderson and her husband Raymond of Rumford, Philip Daigneault of Oakland, Robert Daigneault of Auburn, Louise Alai and her husband Vincent of South Paris, John Daigneault and his wife Karen of Poland and James Daigneault and his wife Deborah of Auburn; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She also leaves behind five of her twelve siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, from 4-7 p.m., at the Fortin Group, 217 Turner Street, Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023 at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 24 Sacred Heart Place, Auburn. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston.
