CAMDEN — Resident Molly Mulhern plans to present Camden, the Climate Crisis, and You, an overview of the latest climate science and open dialogue for Camden citizens to identify impact and solutions, on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Camden Public Library

This is a hybrid event and will take place in the Picker Room at the library as well as on Zoom.

Mulhern will share stories of the Camden-area community and local action, highlighting work already being done and initiatives throughout the state. This evening is designed to provide actionable ideas and connections leading to a fossil-fuel-free Camden, according to a news release from the library.

This event will kick off the CamdenCAN (ClimateActionNow)’s fall series of town-wide climate panels and topics, organized in collaboration with the town of Camden. Formed this spring, CamdenCANis a citizen-led organization committed to reducing Camden’s climate change through local action, education, advocacy and resources. It aims to help its community take advantage of climate solutions with actionable steps.

At the talk there will be signup sheets for committees and events sponsored by this group, as well as information on statewide initiatives for climate action.

Mulhern aims to provide insights into the local impacts of climate change and information about a new Camden climate action group. She is a climate ambassador with A Climate to Thrive on Mount Desert Island and a presenter in Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project. She is also the communications committee chair for Third Act Maine.
