A few days ago, I contacted the Lewiston Police Department concerning the many speeding vehicles on my road (I live on the Old Greene Road, the Sabattus Street end). The McMahon Elementary School is less than one mile away.
Already I have noticed police cars in the area. I appreciate the quick response of the police department on this issue. The area is already posted at 25 miles per hour.
Also, the police department put a “speed mobile trailer” nearby, so I hope this helps to slow down the speeding traffic.
Often, all we hear about the police department is not complimentary. So, my thanks to the officers of the LPD.
