LEWISTON — A juvenile was injured and several buildings were peppered by gunfire Wednesday night after an apparent shootout on Pine Street.
Witnesses reported hearing as many as a dozen gunshots as two groups exchanged gunfire shortly after 8 p.m. near the corner of Pine and Shawmut streets.
A teenager suffered nonlife threatening wounds in the shooting and was taken to a hospital by a family member. His condition was not available Thursday.
By Thursday afternoon, police were still investigating, and no arrests had been made.
The shooting was the second this week to occur in the same area, and follows a Tuesday afternoon drive-by style shooting on Bradley Street. That shooting is still being investigated.
In the Wednesday night shooting, witnesses reported seeing a group of juveniles in the area shortly before shots rang out.
