Michael Hebert

AUBURN – Michael Hebert, a loving husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 61 years old.

Mike was born on July 16, 1962, to Mariette and Richard Hebert in Lewiston. He spent his early years surrounded by the love and warmth of his family, and those early experiences shaped the compassionate and caring man he became.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Mariette, and Richard, who instilled in him the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience.

Mike’s life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family and others. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones and those that knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond throughout their journey together. Their love served as an example of devotion to all who knew them.

Mike was a dedicated father to his children, Simon and Alexandra. He played an active role in their lives, offering guidance, support, and endless encouragement. His love for them was immeasurable, and his children will forever carry his wisdom and love with them.

One of the greatest joys in Mike’s life was just beginning – being a grandfather to his adored grandson, Levi. He relished every moment spent with Levi. Levi’s presence was always a welcomed bright light during Mike’s battle with cancer.

In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by his two beloved hunting dogs, Cedar and Ripple; as well as a host of extended family members, friends, and colleagues who were fortunate to have known him. His infectious laughter, warm smile, and compassionate spirit made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Mike’s life was one of selflessness, hard work, and integrity. As a third-generation owner of Hebert Construction, Mike has left behind a company transformed under his leadership and a community of clients, partners, and employees who have all experienced the passion and effort he put into whatever was asked of him. Additionally, Mike had an indelible influence on the countless individuals who knew him as “Coach Mike.”

A funeral mass honoring Mike’s life will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston, 784-4023. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a remarkable man whose legacy of love and kindness will live on.
