GARDINER — Eli Potter ran for a pair of scores and Riley Murphy caught two touchdown passes as Wells rolled to a 41-0 win over Winthrop/Monmouth/Hall-Dale/Kents Hill on Saturday at Gardiner Area High School.
The Warriors (2-1) pulled away in the second quarter. Potter’s first touchdown early in the period started their scoring, and soon after that came Murphy’s first touchdown reception on a pass thrown by Brooks Fox, giving Wells a 12-0 lead over the Ramblers (1-2) with 10:35 remaining in the half.
A second touchdown pass from Fox to Murphy with 1:30 left in the second quarter pushed the lead to 20-0.
Connor Whitten also had a touchdown catch, then TD runs by Potter and Kevin Bolduc wrapped up the scoring.
