Las Vegas wide receiver Jakobi Meyers was ruled out for Sunday’s game at Buffalo because of a concussion, costing the Raiders a valuable weapon when they play the Bills.

Meyers was injured in last Sunday’s 17-16 victory at Denver. He was the Raiders’ leading receiver against the Broncos, catching nine passes for 81 yards and both Las Vegas touchdowns. That included the winning 6-yard TD catch with 6:34 left.

He was hit in the head on the following drive in which the Raiders ran out the final 5:08.

BROWNS: Cleveland’s top wide receiver, Amari Cooper, had to leave Saturday’s practice early because of a groin injury and is listed as questionable for Monday night’s game at Pittsburgh.

Coach Kevin Stefanski didn’t have much information on Cooper, who underwent surgery to repair a core muscle injury during the offseason. Cooper was on the field during the portion of practice open to the media.

“We’ll see how he does over the next 48 hours,” Stefanski said.

Cooper led the Browns with 78 catches for 1,160 yards and nine touchdowns last season, his first in Cleveland after four with the Cowboys and four with the Raiders. He played the final weeks despite the core muscle injury.

Cooper briefly came into the locker room following practice but didn’t talk to reporters before leaving.

The 29-year-old Cooper is a major part of Cleveland’s offensive attack and not having him in Pittsburgh would be a huge blow to the Browns (1-0), who are coming off a 24-3 win in Week 1 over Cincinnati.

BEARS: Chicago listed right guard Nate Davis as doubtful and ruled out nickel back Josh Blackwell for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay.

The Bears added Davis to the status report for personal reasons, likely leaving the line without another starter. Left guard Teven Jenkins opened the season on injured reserve.

Blackwell suffered a hamstring injury in a season-opening loss to Green Bay. He would have filled in for Kyler Gordon, who broke his right hand in that game.

The Bears announced Friday that defensive coordinator Alan Williams will miss the game for personal reasons. Coach Matt Eberflus, a former defensive coordinator with Indianapolis, will call plays in his place.

PACKERS: Green Bay linebacker Quay Walker has cleared concussion protocol, making him available to play Sunday in Atlanta.

The 2022 first-round pick from Georgia had left the Packers’ season-opening 38-20 victory at Chicago after scoring on a 37-yard interception return.

Green Bay also elevated safety Innis Gaines and running back Patrick Taylor from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game with the Falcons. Taylor’s elevation could provide the Packers some insurance in the event running back Aaron Jones is unable to play.

Jones hasn’t practiced all week and is listed as questionable on the Packers’ injury report due to a hamstring injury. Offensive tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) and wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) also are questionable.

Watson didn’t play against the Bears but practiced on a limited basis Friday.

RAVENS: Baltimore activated running back Melvin Gordon III and center Sam Mustipher from the practice squad for Sunday’s game at Cincinnati.

Baltimore is dealing with significant injuries at both those positions. Running back J.K. Dobbins is out for the season after tearing an Achilles tendon in a season-opening win over Houston. Center Tyler Linderbaum went down with an ankle sprain in that same game.

The Ravens signed Gordon during the offseason. He spent the past three seasons with the Denver Broncos and ran for a career-low 318 yards on 90 carries in 10 games in 2022. Gordon was a 1,000-yard rusher in 2017 with the Los Angeles Chargers.

JETS: New York signed kicker Austin Seibert to the practice squad and then elevated him to the active roster to replace the injured Greg Zuerlein.

The Jets also signed quarterback Tim Boyle from the practice squad to back up Zach Wilson, who’s starting after Aaron Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon in New York’s 22-16 season-opening win against Buffalo last Monday night.

Linebacker Sam Eguavoen was elevated from the practice squad and wide receiver Irvin Charles was waived from the active roster.
