Hurricane Lee churned through the Atlantic last week, reaching Category 5 with wind speeds as high as 165 mph. By the time it blew into New England waters early Saturday it had weakened to a tropical storm. Western Maine received only a brief rainfall, although wind gusts led to downed trees and scattered power outages in Oxford Hills. By sunset on Saturday, Labrador Pond in Sumner looked the same as any other late summer evening. Nicole Carter / Advertiser Democrat
