After initiating action through the city to preserve and protect the stability of her neighborhood, Soule-Leclair decided she wanted to use her boots-on-the-ground experience to initiate and facilitate similar actions for those living in her ward, which includes both single-family home neighborhoods and densely-populated downtown streets.

“As someone who was raised by a pastor and a truck driver, my perspective is that of the common person,” she said in a campaign announcement. “I am a self-made businesswoman who has owned a commercial paint company, a restaurant and bar, a racehorse and currently a DJ business with my husband. I raised three children and help raise one grandchild with special needs. Both my professional and personal life have allowed me to develop a wide range of skills and qualities that would be an asset to the City Council.”

Soule-Leclair believes Lewiston must immediately confront the local homelessness crisis and addiction epidemic with both compassion and common sense.

“I want to make Lewiston safer and encourage growth,” she said. “I believe we have a lot to offer Maine and it’s time we all got serious about our little part of the world.”
