Madelyn “Lynn” F. (Gagne) Bailey
MINOT – Madelyn “Lynn” F. (Gagne) Bailey, 81, of Minot passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday Sept. 24, 2023. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Bailey, who passed away in 2005.
She was born in Auburn, on July 1, 1942, a daughter of the late J. Napoleon “Leon” and M. Donalda (Turgeon) Gagne. She grew up in Auburn attending local area schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1960. Lynn went on to reside in both Boston and San Francisco for many years before returning to Maine, working in banking and customer service.
Lynn was a devote Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. She also was a volunteer for Catholic Charities and loved art and oil painting. Lynn was able to light up any room and was known for her gift of gab and sharp wit. However, her passion was being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Aimee Bailey and her husband Robert Spivey of Boston, she also leaves behind her granddaughter Emmeline Spivey, as well as her sister Susan Wooley and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 12 of her siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10 a.m., at St. Peters Cemetery, Lewiston. There will also be a memorial mass said in her honor on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart, 24 Sacred Heart Place, Auburn.
